State Examining Board records, 1891-1910.

Records compiled by the State Teachers' Examining Committee, appointed under the State Certificate Law [Laws 1893 c34] and the Department of Public Instruction Circular No. 8 which defines the law (1893). The committee had charge of all matters pertaining to the examination of candidates for state certificates and all applications for state certificates by graduates of colleges and universities. In September 1896, it began referring to itself as the State Examining Board.
